We are currently looking for a Senior AWS Cloud Architect for our team in Germany.
As a Senior AWS Cloud Architect, you have solid experience in building, migrating, and operating productive workloads. You know how to develop scalable applications or platforms and how to hand them over to operations. You don't have to be a technical expert in everything, but as a generalist, you have broad knowledge of public cloud and IT, a keen sense of quality, and good communication skills. Customers and colleagues value your opinion and follow your advice.
Your responsibilities:
- Becoming a trusted advisor for high-profile enterprises
- Supporting customer projects from conception to release
- Designing and implementing business-critical applications, platforms, and workflows
- Working with new technologies and services as well as established industry standards
- Reviewing and evaluating on-premise and cloud infrastructures to improve security, reduce costs, or prepare for migration/modernization
- Automating cloud environments with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Managing customer relationships and roadmaps with the Nordcloud sales team
- Occasional travel in Germany or Europe depending on the task and customer
Your qualifications:
- Extensive practical experience with AWS from successfully completed projects, including cloud architecture and enterprise scale landing zones
- Experience in leading delivery engagements for enterprise clients and large organizations
- Solid engineering and technical background and experience in the strategy development, design and architecture of cloud solutions
- Knowledge of security, networking, virtualization, high availability, storage, and databases
Experience with container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift) - Programming/scripting skills (Python, C#, Java, PowerShell, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience in DevOps/DevSecOps and/or platform engineering and infrastructure-as-code (such as Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Experience in consulting and a pre-sales mindset, conducting workshops
- Very good communication skills in German and English

- Experience leading teams of cloud engineers and architects
- Experience with Google Cloud and/or Azure
- Experience in software development with industry-standard programming languages and methodologies
- Passion for sharing your knowledge and mentoring others
